:( I was doing good with not purging for more than a week (lost count, hibernation mode + silent hill).
But I purged about an hour ago and now I have this burning acidic sensation at the back of my throat. I’m not sure if that’s heartburn, but I’ve been swallowing Tums ( 1/2 a tablet for every burn. Stops it for about 10ish minutes). I know Tums in excessive amounts can be bad, but I’ve tried fruity tea, Lactaid, water. :( its still there! And Tums only take it away.
If anyone has any experience with this, maybe not purging but the same acid annoyance thing going on, suggestions would be appreciated because I’m ******* sleepy and this is keeping me up -_-
PS:… I know I have to stop purging. I am not oblivious to my own acts or the dangers of it.

You get the burning feeling because of stomach acid probably.
Those Tums work against heartburn, they lower acidity in your stomach but I doubt it will affect your throat.
Gargle some water and then warm milk (don’t swallow milk though and don’t mix water and milk together).
Purging can refer to throwing up food, pooing by using laxatives in excessive amounts, using diretics to remove water weight or to exercise excessively. In this case I’m taking about throwing up :/. Which has obviously turned my health down.
Aww honey :( my only suggestion is try a warm drink, do what .eli. said and gargle water and try a warm drink, anything thats not too thick and nothing hot! Proud of you for trying to stop. Maybe try to look at this discomfort as another reason not to do it.

The milk seems to also work temporarily :’( I’m not sure if i really destroyed my throat this time or screwed my valve.
Thanks, snow white (and Eli :D) I’ve been doing great wih staying away from my triggers but I thought I would face my fears and actually eat beef teriyaki since I’ve stayed away from meat for a very long time. Hamburgerrrrrrr hngggg.
if your stomach doesn’t have enough in it, it will shrink… i would imagine this would mean less room for your stomach acids to stay inside your stomach, so they instead move upwards into your throat since that sphincter guarding your esophagus is likely not functioning properly right now. one thing you can do to keep your stomach from shrinking is drink tons of water, at the very least it could water down the acid that is hurting your throat…
i hope you feel better soon, stomach acids can damage your lungs too.
I think you should let this annoyance be a reminder for every time you want to upchuck delicious food and think of the starving children in Africa that would of loved to eat that beef teriyaki
now I’m hungry

Even though it’s true that loads of people would love to have food in front of them it doesn’t mean that “thinking about it” would actually make a disorder I’ve had for more than 3 years suddenly disappear.
Nice suggestion though. I’ll submit it to Hogwarts.

isn’t it sad how there will be no hogwarts
Hm maybe there is. Maybe all the people who believe things can magically disappear are the students… hey do you think you can probably maybe zip this whole thing away? I mean of course if starving children can fix a metal disorder surely you can fix me. :) Jesus how stupid can I be? **** was easy all along. Shame on me. ****.
Have you seen a professional about the mental disorder or tried to cold turkey it?
I know its a mental disorder and when you look in the mirror you probably see fat and i know you know you can die and teeth will rot out from the acid in you’re stomach and breath will likely stink a lot and i know you can’t help it and probably think of all those things and get more depressed and purge again.
I blame it on TV and models and magazines
Pepto bizmol works coats the throat worked for me when i had acid in my throat from not purging
but actually throwing up the beef was probably warranted my sister who quit eating red meats years ago had something with beef in it (unknown) and threw up when she found out.
