Hello

20years ago I was told that I was Dyslexic
Its strange what limitations can do to your life
finally I have started learning, and I make many mistakes sometimes even google spellcheck gives up on me ,but I do notice
My writing improves a little everyday,
I don’t think I am dyslexic :)
28
any word more than four letters becomes a challenge :)
It makes me worry more than anything, when I see children asking why are they feeling sad, and someone always replies “maybe it’s Bipolar”, for it to then manifest into a self-fulfilled prophesy is so easy, impressionable minds seek short quick answers or blame :/
normal people are pretty dam boring anyway :)
I do that all the time with my b’s and d’s

How old are you now?I’m dyslexic. Do you ever type b for d or p, etc? Do you sometimes still reverse letters when printing? I do these things but I notice that they’re wrong now and I fix them.
I used to struggle with reading comprehension. I could read a passage and not be able to remember any part of it. I did very poorly in English and Reading classes all throughout high school. I was even told a few times that the reason for my inability to comprehend what I read as well as my fellow students was due to dyslexia. As much as I didn’t want to believe it, I became convinced that it was true. Ironically, English and Reading became my strong point once I began college.

Why do you think it improved so much? a more catered and better method towards learning or the desire to improve or..?

I’d say both were the case. I had a desire to seek improvement for my reading comprehension and I took action by making every effort to read more often and in turn I develop better skills and a profound respect for reading.

*Developed* Too bad my grammar skills are still deficient. ^_^
I might also add that when I used to read stories, the dictionary was always well within my reach. I had a tendency to look up every word whose definition I was unsure of or any word which game me the slightest bit of trouble. One might call it ‘careful attention to detail’ as I was very thorough and particular about understanding almost every word and how it fits into the context. Consequently, it would prolong the reading process and usually take me twice as long to finish. But the end result was well worth it. :)
