Art or Gambling?

Hey everyone, I’m trying to write a story about a painter and a craps player, and I’d like to work the vocabulary of their respective worlds in, but I know nothing about art and less about dice. If anyone has experience with that stuff and wouldn’t mind throwing some jargon and explanations of it at me, that would help a lot. Thanks!
