friends help: I am a lonely person. - Help.com

I am a lonely person.

I wonder what it is like to have a big circle of friends, even a partner. I just found out that I have Asperger Syndrome, which makes it difficult for me to make friends because my brain is not interested in interaction, only being in company of others. It means I don’t automatically jump up to a conversation, only I will slip into the dwelling of my own thoughts, without realizing I’m not talking. I can be annoyed of the chatter of my family members, even co-workers, but don’t really know why. My mind just prefers not to react to external beings or things. I can’t even count the number of people who commented on this case of mine.

I often feel like that myself, and I don’t have “Asperger’s.” To me it seems pretty normal. I don’t get people who have to be talking all the time. I have several friends like that and I find them really annoying to be around for more than an hour …
