I need to make a persuasive speech on why you should recycle.

I’ve found that it takes less energy to make things out of recycled materials and it is good for the environment. Does anybody have any other good persuasive facts about why you should recycle? I’ve been finding a lot of the same information. Thanks much!

Well, no offense to any “environmental” people out there. Just that with 100% honesty, nobody really gives a crap about the environment. They care about themselves. People who claim to worry about the environment are not worried about the environment, they’re worried about themselves. They are scared of rising oceans, and stuff like that. It’s all fear based. And while fear might work to motivate the weakest 10% of people in the world, you need something far more motivating to get the other 90% to do something.

And that something is MONEY.

If you want to convince people that recycling is a good thing, then show them how much money they can make doing it. The only way you’re going to get people to care about the Polar Bears and the melting Arctics is to put a picture of them on the front of the Dollar bill, and then show people how saving the polar bears will cause them to make more money.

If you want to make a persuasive speech, do it like that.

Because our landfills are full and we are running out of space to put our garbage. I keep my newspapers and pizza and beer boxes and take them to the local school. I also keep aluminum and sell it because it is worth 75 cents a pound instead of a quarter like it used to be. If it was more economically feasible more people would do it.
