Help help: I started bleaching my hair aiming for it to be platinum/white. - Help.com

I started bleaching my hair aiming for it to be platinum/white.

I understand that I have to bleach it more than once. The first time I bleached it, it turned yellow. That’s fine, but now that I’m doing a strand test for the second bleach it won’t lighten. I tried using a bleach with a purple base, but that didn’t do anything either. I’m using Nutrisse Intense D01.

What am I doing wrong? Everywhere I look it says you have to have lighter hair before using a toner, but my hair won’t get any lighter.

I bleached my hair 4 times before it went anywhere near blonde (from dark brown) and it RUINED my hair. If I were you, i’d save up money and go to a salon and get it done professionally because I regret everything. I gave myself a chemical burn to my scalp and bits of my hair fell out and now my doctor says I’ve to stop dying it or my hair could fall out permanently. ask a professional and be careful. - From experience

You could go to a salon and have a professional bleach it for you. If you’re spending so much on dyes to get it lighter, it might save you some cash to pay someone else to do it.. I’ve never been to a salon though so..

The using real bleach idea makes me cringe a little, but I hope this helps http://www.wikihow.com/Bleach-Your-Ha…

Going to a salon is way to expensive. Where I live to get your hair professionally done is 100-150$, with that much money I could get at least 10 boxes of bleach, or 13 packs of bleach powder and peroxide.

And I’ve already looked that those links days ago, they didn’t help in the least.

you have to just keep bleaching it, and don’t go swimming or anything like that or it will turn green =S

I just did a strand test though and it literally had no effect though. I’m not going to just keep bleaching it and bleaching it if it’s not even going up a single shade.

theres a product called Purple Shampoo, it removes all the brass color from your hair depending on how long you use it for. wash your hair with this and keep it in for about 30 minutes then wash it out, your hair will be greyish because it took all that yellow color out. now all you have to do after that is keep washing it and the grey will come out and it will be VERY blond, then you can go to the store and select the color you want since your hair will be practically white and it will go to the platinum blond you want it to. might take a week but it will give you results. you can buy this shampoo at most salons.

The shampoo is the same as the toner. It won’t work unless my hair is light enough, but the bleach won’t take effect so my hair won’t get light enough to use a toner!
