Are we Entering a New Ice Age?

if yes, what preparations should i make?

I’m one of those people that dont think at all, let alone start thinking about events in the future that may not even happen, this way of living has served me well and i like it, but i realised today when opening my empty fridge, if any sort of catastrophe happens in the future, food wiped out no electric or gas and chaos on the streets, what would i do?
so i thought from today i will make the decision to stock up on supplies like dry food and coal, I dont know if this is irrational thinking or normal, I know I am not going to spend all my time thinking about disasters happening because I’m sure I will start to see some if it is all i look for, but is it or is it not sensable to prepare for such events, and what would you acquire in preparation for such an event?

It does make sense to keep some canned and dry food on hand for emergencies, but it doesn’t make sense to worry about it.

I always have canned beans, canned tomatoes, canned and dry milk, and rice. Only shop for them when they are on sale, and pay attention to expiration dates. Dry beans are pretty versatile and long-storing too, but take more time and energy to cook. If the power is off, you can eat canned food cold, but dry food would need an energy input. I keep a little water on hand, but I figure rain or snow would meet our needs in an extended emergency.

I don’t worry about chaos. If it happens, I will deal with it, but I don’t have any prepared plan for it. I suppose if they want food, they will loot the grocery store a block away and leave homes alone.

Lols, stocking up on stuff to wait for the new supposed “ice age” to blow over.
If it really would happen then it’s gonna last for several hundreds of years, no amount of stocking space will be enough to survive it in a “safe place”.
Also even if it would happen, so what, humans can live in up to -52 celsuis cold weather just fine, even more efficient in some things, such as they don’t have the need of keeping freezers thus they consume less electricity.

If you really want to ‘acquire’ stuff to prepare yourself then acquire skills and knowledge on surviving, psychology, biology, basic mechanics and similar stuff…

Agree.

However, keeping some stuff on hand for ice storms, power outages, et c. is good practice.

spend some vacation time in Greenland or Alaska to get a realistic idea of what an ice age might entail. Plan a job move to the equator

your right, i guess there is no point stacking up on 5 weeks worth of food if when or if that time comes, it will surely last longer than 5 weeks, maybe i will try my skills at hunting or something that may really help. learned how to dehydrate fruit today, preserved some orange slices :)
