Why is he being distant?
About a week ago I met this guy in a store, we exchanged phone numbers etc. He started texting me a lot at first, even when he was at work. But first of all I noticed sometimes he said one thing that dosen’t sound quite right, then I might catch him out about it. For example, he told me that as well as his job at the store, he is also a DJ. I sorta believed it, and didn’t think anything of it. I searched his DJ name on youtube but it was actually a completely different guy, even though he had said to me all his songs were on youtube. I didn’t want to mention it, so I stayed quiet.
Then two days ago, I knew he was working the Monday but he didn’t say he was working at the store on Tuesday, so I asked him Monday night if he wanted to hang out on Tuesday. (We haven’t actually gone on a proper date yet) but then he said that he is also a binman, and he is covering for two guys. I said ‘what, so you have 3 jobs?’ and he said ‘yeah, usually i’m a binman on Mondays. But I will give up the DJ job and binman job just so I can see you.’
Another thing is that despite the starnge stories, on the first day we met he had told me ‘Love you’ in a text, and he made out that he has fell in love with me at first sight. But somtimes I just feel like he is just telling me the things that I ‘want’ to hear. I don’t know whether I am being paranoid from my previous relationship (it was a bad relationship) or what.
Now, about a week later from when we met, he has slowly stopped texting me. He’d always text me in the morning and at night to say goodnight, but he hasn’t. I asked him why he wasn’t texting so much, and he said that he was running out of texts - which I suppose is a fair enough excuse.
I don’t know if I am right to feel suspicious, or to just ignore this.
