I have severe panic attacks.

Here’s the problem. I own an online business and I was approved to going to the 2012 Toy Fair. I’m excited, however, I’m worried about having an attack at this fair. It’s a huge convention center. What should I do?

The number 1 cause for panic attacks is fearing having a panic attack, dont think about it, if you must, visualise it going great.

That’s the problem I’m having (this is also affecting my love life as there’s a girl I want to be with). I fear having them, but I can’t stop fearing it. :(

I hope you have been diagnosed by a medical professional. If you have, you would have had discussed with you a variety of options to help you cope with your anxiety issues.

If haven’t then I suggest you do and look to learning strategies to deal with these issues. From what I understand it could be medication, theraphies such as counselling, diet, exercise, breathing etc. You will need medical advice to be in control of this so that you can lead your life. Your doctor will be able to get you a referral. Good luck.

I’ve been to doctors, and the medicine I’ve been on didn’t work, so I stopped (stupid I know). I don’t have health insurance. I don’t want these panic attacks to cause me to lose the girl of my dreams.

Okay have you tried counselling? I hear CBT works really well for some. There are loads of methods that can help you. Do you know what triggers it? You should try and keep diaries and write down what happens to me before my heart started beating fast. Also note what you are eating and how you slept that night. You have to analysis yourself because you are low on funds. You have to find as much as you can out about it. For instance is it , someone saying something, something you see, the idea of loads of people etc? You can try some visualisation work and have these references to help you in these situations e.g. there are some great and cheap self hypnosis tapes on Amazon that deal directly with anxiety. They work for some people.

Go to Amazon, under MP3 downloads, search for ‘Anxiety’ and then ‘Panic Attacks’ and spend some time listening to many recordings. Find a voice that suits you, one that’s like you i.e. male low voice, North American etc. and purchase it, it only costs around 99c. Some people find it helps to listen to these tapes before a big event. Hope you conquer and live the life you should be living and keep the girl! Best wishes and Good luck.

If you select an MPS,do a google on the author to make sure they are a reputable i.e. licensed practictioner. There are some top people giving fantastic tapes on Amazon and their private costs would be around $200 an hour. These tapes represent real value for money only if you get the right ones.

I truly appreciate all of your help. Right now, it seems that what causes my attacks are fearing future attacks. It’s just a never ending cycle.

Become an emperor of your destiny. Hope you find some MP3 to get you going. You can’t live your live in fear. These tapes take you to a time and place when you didn’t feel like this and you use this as a starting point. You can and will do this. Now convince yourself.

I’ve been trying to convince myself for 12 years. I’m usually always with a positive attitude, but it just seems liek whenever I say I’ll never have another one they keep on coming up. My ex girlfriend broke up with me because of this and I don’t want anything to go wrong with the current girl. It’s soooooo hard.

I hope it works this time. I hope you find a great MP3 and then move on from there, perhaps being able to afford proper sessions eventually. Forget about the last girl and focus on this one. Leave the baggage in the past, in fact, throw it all out and start anew.

Some times not understanding what panic attacks really are can be part of the problem, I think too many people say “just take a deep breath and relax” or “don’t worry about it” like that will cure panic disorder. I wish it were that simple.

My friend showed me this site http://panic-attacks-help.com There’s alot of good information on there about reducing panic attacks, and some programs and methods people have used to cure their general anxiety disorder and panic attacks.

Check it out if you want, look around, panic attacks are natural and can be deal with naturally.
