what do people call ‘ghee’ in west?

You are meaning the kind of “butter” they use in Indian dishes right? haha, i just heard the “english” version of it today. apparently, its “clarified butter” :D
They don’t. Because there is no concept of ghee here. But the closest I can think of is melted butter. That’s how I usually explain it.
Apparently we call it ghee too. You can buy it online from health food stores in the USA. http://www.swansonvitamins.com/PUF001…

you mean, no one in west made ghee from milk? ever? its very tasty and awsome for frying purposes. we call it desi ghee (home made ghee) but now it has become ancient tradition, one followed when people had lots of time like back then when there was no tv and internet, now we just buy it from market but its not that tasty and too expensive too. - Anonymous
ghee is as said clarified butter, I first learnt of it from the story of “Little Black Sambo” (sorry that’s the title! :() At the end tigers chase eachother round a tree until they become ghee.
Well I’m Indian myself - so yes we make ghee at home.
OK OK, now i want the Procedure..First milk the Male Goat and then what?Leave it in the Sun for 48 Hours? Hmmm i can smell it already.. Must be good this Ghee…
