Single does not equal pathetic.
Just thought I’d remind you all of that.

Valentines Day is making everyone forget that, apparently.
Indeed it is. It’s sad and slightly agrivating. You don’t have to be in a relationship to be a worthwhile and happy person.

I would have to agree with you. But like Ralph said, the hallmark holiday known as Valentine’s Day, is making everyone become irrational and think they are pathetic if they don’t have someone to share this silly holiday with.
That was supposed to be a heart by the way :D

more people than ever are living alone. In my view is that in Britain this began partly with the poll tax which literally led to young adults leaving home as taxes based on the value of a house were replaced by a tax on each individual in the house. More generally, the economic situation since the Eighties has proved destabalising, especially the increase in part-time work and short term contracts
The conditions that supported a family have been eroded. There may be a positive aspect, and positive choices to enjoy the freedoms that single life offers, but the downsides, including shorter life span, are considerable.
I’d love to see my single life as purely a life style choice, but it was a choice made in the face of long term unemployment in the Eighties and now the prospect of long term uneployment that will probably last until my death.
I will always support any event that simbolizes love and care. What I dont like is the expected gfts part. If im walking through tbe mall on any other given day and see something i know she will like or needs and i can afford it. Ill buy it!.. im single. Lol
