is my neighborhood too dangerous/ghetto to live in?

i live in a very densely populated neighborhood in a city that is notorious for its crime. things have been getting kind of crazy over here lately..in the last few months or so there were about two armed robberies in jewelry shops, an undercover cop was shot in the face, there are occasional gang shootings, muggings, police helicopters almost every night, and just tonight the cops shot and killed a guy at a gas station a couple blocks away from me. is it just my neighborhood or is it this crazy everywhere nowadays? would this be enough to make you want to move out of your neighborhood?

To be honest, weird crazy things have been happening everywhere lately, not only ghetto areas. I live in a really quiet city and just recently there have been helicopters, screaming homeless people, shootings happening lately. I have never experienced that living for almost my whole life where I do. I suggest you just stay put and safe in your home. If it really begins to bother you though you can consider finding a new home..but like I said, weird stuff has been happening everywhere lately. It’s chaos, especially with all the stress going on in this country politically and especially with the economy.

i can definitely see that the recessions and unemployment have been having an effect on crime all over the US. i just hope my neighborhood doesn’t go back to the way it was in the 80s/90s cuz it was the worst possible place to live back in those days =/
