Why didn’t my boyfriend stand up for me?

? On friday at lunch time we were sitting together having lunch in the cafeteria and then this other girl that I don’t get along with and her boyfriend walked by. Her boyfriend called me a ****! All my boyfriend did was turn around and say watch what you say to the guy. The guy was all like “Or what, what are you going to do huh?”. My boyfriend just sat there and didn’t say anything. I can’t believe my boyfriend didn’t stand up for me and punch the guy or something. I guess this means that he doesn’t love me or anything. Should I break up with him?

What would punching the other guy do?

Do NOT jump to conclusions like this. Your boyfriend did the right thing.

So what if he stands up, fights, and gets in trouble? He would be making a fool out of himself in front of you, and everyone else. He would make you look like a fool as well.

This shows he DOES love you. If he didn’t love you, he wouldn’t be sitting next to you, eating lunch, and warning the other guy to watch his mouth.

Please, do not even think of breaking up over this slight. You expected him to punch the offender in the face? Yeah. What would that achieve? Nothing. He would be in trouble, the other guy would get off without any trouble. Think, please.
