for all my life i have felt like i have a dark cloud

over my head, feelings of constant dispair and fear until only a few years ago i realised why i felt this way, it was mankind! all we care about is money and power, everything our race does is against the grain so to speak, i know in my heart how to solve all of man’s “problems” but everytime i say how i feel im labeled a madman or told i cant change anything. im lost in a sea of evil and i cant see land!

Mankind may have some flaws but the penguins aren’t much better.

I would dare to say that penguins, in fact, are much better…

I understand what you mean, master.penguin100. I have had major depression myself for quite some time, and what you explained covers quite a lot of what I feel too. I have no solution for you, since I have no solution for myself. But, I will say that you should be thankful you aren’t from North America like myself. It seems much worse on this side of the Atlantic.

You then may find yourself unhappy if trapped in human form.

If you were a penguin it would not be much better. It would be all about power. The big penguins would knock you around and take your women. You would have to fight to breed. It is the way of the world, it is not just man.

If you want inspiration, here is a kid who decided it was his mission to solve the suffering of mankind, and chose to start meditating in silence at age 15 to find the solution to improve it all.

I don’t know if he came up with solutions, but at least his quest is well-documented.

I never heard of a penguin who slaughtered thousands of other penguins for power. I can name off quite a few humans who did this.

Or at least commanded armies to do the slaughtering for them.

When penguins have armies, they will do the same. Or worse.

So all animals are inherently evil?

that guy is amazing, i myself have spent time in deep meditation and thus came to very similar conclusions, if every human was to spend time meditating the world would become a far easier place to live in.
the biggest problem i see though is our leaders arent great people, they are only voted in because there is no one better, another massive problem is voting for particular political party’s (having to choose a side). but if he was in charge of the whole world things would change for the better very quickly.

Just make an effort to do what you can to improve the world. Talk to homeless people, you don’t need to give them anything, just say hello, or chat. Do community service, help people around you. It’s rewarding and educational to help others, and even though you are one person, you can make a difference.
I read about a new yorker article (couldn’t find the original) that had an example of a person who had written in their suicide note that if one person smiled at them on the way to the bridge, they wouldn’t jump.
Be that one person, because it’s true that there’s a lot of evil out there, but it’s also true that we have the power to change, we can easily improve someones day with a smile.
