How do I get myself out of this rut?

I’m tired of crying myself to sleep only to wake up sad and lonely… I’m tired of drinking my life away. How do I ask for help?

Your problem is avoidance. You are avoiding facing your fears in life. Alcohol is a key form of avoidance… numbing your feelings instead of dealing with them.

As you mention being lonely, it seems your fears include socializing with people.

REad “How to start a conversation and make friends” by Don Gabor. Practice the techniques with everyone you meet including grocery store clerks etc.

Join social groups (see meetup.com for lists in your area)

The way out of a rut is to take charge of yourself, do some reading, practice new skills, and push yourself to face your fears. You will feel great… it just takes practice and persistence.
