RF aerial connection to component cables?

Im trying to hook my Nintendo 64 up to my Projector, but sadly the only connection i currently have is for the standard RF aerial connection to go into a tv, which happens to be a connection my projector doesnt have! On my projector there is the component cables (yellow, red and white), S-video and the 12 pin (i think?) pc monitor connection. Is there any cheap connections that will convert my RF aerial lead to one of the ports on my projector? Lying around the house i have got the following set up http://distilleryimage4.instagram.com/b9f0ec8266c911e180c9123138016265_7.jp g (the black box goes into the nintendo, then the rf from that to 3.5mm jack converter, then to the component cables into my projector) but it doesnt work :( i assume this is due to the signals getting mixed up during the 3.5mm jack part? Another question, how easy would it be to cut the rf lead and split out the video and audio to solder onto the 3 component plugs?
Thanks a lot :D

Ash

Why not just buy a proper solution?

So go to a game store or something. I don’t see why it’s so difficult.

The nearest game store that sells Nintendo 64 parts to me is over an hour away so I just wanted to see if I could use the bits I had at home

I just don’t see that happening. Even trying to splice them could just accidentally kill your projector.

RF Coaxial and RCA are completely different things and you CANNOT just mess with cables and/or adapters to make it work. It won’t work and you may kill your projector along the way.

You need a tv tuner to convert the signal. The quickest and cheapest way I can think of is to use an old VCR (since you probably still have one around) and a SCART to component adapter.

Nintendo > RF Coaxial cable > VCR > SCART to RCA adapter > RCA cables > Projector
