Why are people such hypocrites?

?? Yes, i can be one sometimes but i realize my own actions and i tend to stop. So, the girls in my school have this singing competition and for some reason, i decided to try it out this year. So, we had a singing practice at someones house and remember, there were at least 200 girls on each team (there are 2 teams). So we had to squish with each other. I also want to mention that the seniors are the captains and are in charge of teaching us the lyrics and that all grades can participate so that there will be 9th 10th 11th and 12th graders on each team. so while we were sitting there, one friend of mine started poking and sliding her fingers on my knee and so i started telling her (as a joke) to not act like she is 9 and to please stop. Then this senior, decides to point to us saying, “can you girls over there next to the couch stop talking? kay, thanks” everyone starts staring at us for alittle bit and then the captians say, “yeah, you don’t want to be called out so stop talking.” which is ANNOYING because that was the only time i ever talked and that all these girls around me were running their mouths nonstop even though the captains were talking and they didnt get in trouble. Later on in the practice, i notice that when the captains said not to talk, the senior who decided to point the finger at us earlier was talking along with other seniors. They did that for the rest of the night and they didnt have to be embarrassed or called out. UGH!!! why do seniors think they are so awesome and superior? i would never do something like that and i would want to be a friendly approachable person, not someone who looks and acts b1tchy. I seriously wanted to just smack her in the face. I am really annoyed! I am sorry if it seems that i am whining and complaining but i am pretty sure none of you guys would want to be called out either and almost forced to sing in front of 200 girls by yourself.(i forgot to mention that part but i almost had to). I am just venting

You’ll get over it. By the time I was a senior, it was really strange, not only was nobody picking on me any more, I’d get this sense of awe and respect from just random people and groups of people. I’m pretty sure it didn’t even have anything to do with who I was, because I was the same person, more that I was often mentioned for having won some impossible award or other (which is still not about who I was, just that I managed to achieve some things.) So, long story short, I remembered how awful it was freshman and sophomore years and then I was as nice as possible to any of the younger people or anyone who was not doing so well yet by senior year. Hopefully you can remember too.

The one and only time you were talking, and got caught, you were guilty by association. The Captians said: “Yeah you don’t want to be called out so stop talking.” They said this to repostulate their authority - they were defending
thier statius as Captians (presumably over the senior that ran his/her mouth).
And no, the senior didn’t get b!tched out because. . .well. . .rank has its
privlidges.
You’ll be a senior soon.
Paybacks are h#!!
Enjoy.
