I am in desperate need to find a real sense of self.

All the things that I once relied on are falling away
and I don’t know who I am.

I’ve just been wasting time all my life.

I know nothing about my own identity.

Part of me really wants something to cling to.

I’m sorry about your feelings right now. You are self-pitying. You can do lots of useful thing in life and to others and it is up to you if you want to waste your time for nothing. Best things, run to God. He is just waiting you to call Him.

One can only know his true self when all other variables and attachments are removed. With so many mortal attachments in this world, finding ones true self can feel like a completely new expierience. For example, people act different when in different crouds of people, such as louder and more open with friends, quiet around strangers, and awkward around people you don’t really like. But what are you when all that’s removed? What happened to you to make you question who you are, and why do you think its a waste?

Say to yourself “self you are really here” then you sort of dive through various layers.
