Oh ok. Two separate problems. Basically I’m tired all day unless I sleep for 15 minutes and I basically don’t have a normal body clock. It makes it hard to pay attention. I’d prefer to sleep an hour every five hours but I can’t.

And being a schizoid means I don’t feel very much. I basically don’t feel sad lonely or fear. (I kinda feel a little happy sometimes and I enjoy laughing a lot, I can still empathise with and help others) But I basically have no real reason to do stuff if there are no negative reprocussions emotionally

I want to be able to learn about computers but it’s hard.

If you have a genuine mental health condition and letters from a medical professional proving it, it will be in your interest to inform your university so that they can support you and your studies. Your condition may be triggered off by stress and you may benefit from having longer time with your assignments etc. Whatever your condition, it is in your interest to tell someone in confidence. I would advise giving this information to the disability officer if your university has one, one the condition that NOBODY else is made aware of your condition eg lecturers, tutors etc. State that it can be written for example, ‘John suffers from a mental health problem. It affects his concentration at times. When he appears to be distant, please be understanding etc,’ Rather than, John suffers from X. Do not allow anybody but the occuapational health adviser/disabilty officer to know of your condition. Be very careful about telling other students. Don’t allow people to make assumptions about you when they have no idea what your condition is.

I think I’ll tell her/him that I’m narcoleptic though, no one needs to know I have a schizoid personality, no point

Dear Runningawaynow, don’t give yourself this vague labels. You are a total person and no medical label identifies YOU totally. You are unique. Some professional has merely noted through examining you and has given you this label in order to support your development in life. It should work against you. No respectable professional should and would NEVER use this confidential information against you. These characteristics make you a disabled person in the medical sense and you will benefit from support given to people with these conditions. Make sure that you only disclose to an individual that will ensure he or she tells nobody else. Get written confirmation that they will do this. Also, tell them that they MUST seek your approval of ANY communication made about you regarding your medical condition. This way you are protected in law and they have to support you. Do not be ashamed of your condition. You are an intelligent person doing a degree despite your disability. It is an amazing achievement to be where you are with your challenges. I salute you!
