school help: I have such a terrible itchy tingly headache and it’s not normal. - Help.com

I have such a terrible itchy tingly headache and it’s not normal.

I had to go home from school because I was practically pulling my own hair out to remove the uncomfortable feeling. I’m also jerking my head from side to side and crying because it feels so bad. This had been going on every sp often for a while now. At first I thought I was just not eating enough, but I’ve been eating okay recently so that couldn’t be it!
My mom suggested I take an Advil or Tylenol, but that wouldn’t work because it isn’t an actual PAIN; it’s more of this awful feeling in my head. What if I have hydrocephalus or something…?
I’m so scared. Can you please tell me what is wrong with me?

I get a lot of headaches/migraines and most the time it is not what you would think of as a “pain”. I think you should try the advil or tylenol and get a ice pack or a cold wet towel and lay it over your eyes/forhead. Then lay down and try and relax. Focus on your breathing and calm yourself down.

It seems like you are very anxious which just makes it worse.

I would skip the “take medicine” advice and go see a doctor about it. It doesn’t sound like any kind of normal headache or migraine I’ve ever had. And Tylenol is a freaking joke, try Excedrin for migraines, that’s what i took and had some dr. pepper also, that usually helped. Lay down in a dark room and try to have it as silent as possible. But seriously, go see a doctor, and i mean more than just a regular one.

I have to agree, Princess. Make an appointment with your family doctor and he/she will handle it.

Yes, for a while. My doctor said to come back in two weeks if I keep getting them. I hope this will go away on its own.
Thanks for the advice, everyone!
