WALKING:LIKE THE OLYMPICS!

Walking is so fun. I walk to school, home, on a walking trail by the train tracks at the park. Its so much better then sitting, being bored! I want to encourage everyone to walk at LEAST an hour today! If you do, make sure to take plenty of water. C:

It’d also be fun to go with a friend/friends. So you can be silly while looking around~. Play basketball, soccer, baseball, any sport thats fun. Sorry about this odd post, I’ve been loosing weight just by walking, now I’m a healthy 132.5 pounds (5″8 height). But I still have a bit to go.

You could all walk to school/work/where-ever if its not too far away. My schools only about 1.9/2 miles away, thats a good distance. And just walk when your bored!

Come: JOIN THE WALKING REVOLUTION!

I walk to save money on gas, miles and miles, nearly daily. Eventually I may give up my car altogether. (Or it might be repossessed, but I hope not.) My six-month-old daughter insists we take a daily walk even when we don’t need to go anywhere. I don’t think of it as exercise, though, just transportation and maybe recreation.

I love to walk too. We have some beautiful walking trails where I live. Walking is like a meditation to me. It relaxes me and just makes life feel better.

Great post! Thanks for the invites.

Yes yes yes, I walk too! :) But that’s because I don’t own a bike, don’t drive a car, etc.

Still, it’s great to walk. I’m training to join the four days marches (40km every day). I hope it’s gonna work, but I hurt my foot, so now I’m behind on the training schedule…

I really love to walk. Unfortunately, between the roads around here end right at ditches, and the roadway curves, we really have to get in our cars, and drive to places where we can walk safely. However, whenever I go out, I walk a lot. Project mom, good job. A body in motion, tends to stay in motion.

I like running a lot of places I go. I can’t go very far though. I can run around… 300m at max in one go, 500 if I jog lightly before getting puffed out. I can walk far though, the only thing limiting me being time and dehydration due to limited water.
Back in 2010 I planned out a route and walked around. In 2011 i cycled round quite a bit of the area where I live, familiarizing myself with the area.
It occurred to me so many of us don’t know our area quite as well as say we know the open world game areas. There were some roads I went down I hadn’t before. Because they were out of the way roads that I usually wouldn’t go down. It’s amazing to think of how little land we really know, even in our own country.

Work is over 8 miles away.
Tje nearest shop is 5 miles.
I do go to the gym for about 12 - 16 hrs a week though so i think i can justify driving to work.
Not been to the gym since tue now as i am at deaths door with possible flu :(
My body already feels odd as i’ve missed a few days of the gym.
I’m thinking of having a bit of a kettle bells session in the house while i can’t go out.

Good advice though, everyone can afford to be a bit more active.

Fantastic idea! I haven’t been able to do very much walking lately due to injury, but have always loved being active. I don’t drive, so walk and catch public transport to get to most places. It’s such a great thing to do, particularly in cold weather =)

aha, yeah i have a full size mountain bike, you get a better stroke than you can get with a bmx, plus you have gear levels. if you do the math (i didn’t, its an estimate :P) i’m only moving something like 10-12km/h… which varies with wind. god i hate the wind.

Agreed we are not meant to sit all day. We must keep active to stay healthy mentally and physically. We all have a time on this earth so its best to be comfortable in your own body. Its good to drink water but don’t over do it, remember we get water from everything we drink and eat during the day.
