I’m not very much for computers, but have you tried the System Restore function?

F11 does not work on all computers. To find out if it works on yours.
Start or restart your computer. If you get a prompt left top to press F11 then you can reset your computer to its factory settings.

I’m sorry I;m not helping here, but on a similar note…

I’m trying to restore my computer to the original factory setting. I tried System Restore, but it will only allow me to “Restore to an earlier date” and thats only a month ago. Is there any way I can restore it manually and without a restore disk?

I’m having a problem with my laptop at the moment which needs restoring to factory settings. As someone earlier said System Restore will only allow me to go back to a certain point not that long ago. I dont have the disk to restore it so any suggestions or ideas on how I can restore it manually?

hi all.. here’s my suggestion…

open the CPU and remove it’s battery for 15minutes.. then put it back again and start your computer.

if it doesn’t work, remove the jumper pin beside the battery…then put it back again with the same position. that’s it.. it’s REALLY Surely gonna reset your computer… YO.

to reset your computer to factory setting , you need , first , the operating system CD that is to supposed to come with your computer or laptop. If you do so , then restart your computer , insert the CD , and then keep pressing F8 untill the cd will run automatically . all what you have to is follow the instruction .

Have you tried to empty windows password. there is a solution for those who has forgotten their password. With no reinstalling, with no the original password, with no data loss, you can reset the password. As following,

1. Login to a computer that can link to Internet. Download Windows Password Unlocker 4.0 at http://www.passwordunlocker.com and decompress it on that PC. Note that: there is a .ISO file. Burn the .ISO file to a CD.
2 Get out the newly created CD and insert it to the locked computer.
3 re-booted the locked computer and then followed the process of instructions. Just a few steps, the old password was removed.'’
‘4 Setting new password:
Step one: Open the “Control Panel”
Step two: Click the “User Account “
Step three: Select the account you wanna to set a new password.
Step four: Click “changing Account ” and “set up password”, then fill out the form as listed. Click “Create Password”.

It sounds to me that your BIOS has lost it’s firmware.
If you backed up your BIOS settings on a floppy, you can reload the BIOS settings this way.
If You have recently Updated your BIOS with a Flash program to update the firmware,
you may have gotten the wrong Bios update.

The method that I am about to tell you only has been tested on a dell vostro. It might work on other dells but maybe not.

First you must either restart your computer. A screen that says “DELL” in blue letters should appear and in the top, right-hand corner, the words “F2=SETUP” and “F12=BOOT MENU” should also appear. As soon as they do, press F4. After the next screen comes up, press F8. Then a screen with about 8-10 different choices should appear. the one you want, “Repair you computer” is already highlighted so press Enter. Then you must choose your keyboard layout and click next. Choose the user and password (type no password if the account has none) and then click next. Then click “Dell Factory Image Restore”.

Warning. This is not reversible. Everything will be wiped clean and it will be as if you bought a new computer. So, if you can, back-up your files.

If you lost windows password. I think the best solution is making a windows password recovery disk with the third part utility. The disk works perfectly to recover windows password to “Blank”. It is also useful for administrator password recovery, you can wrote it to an blank CD or USB flash drive to recover administrator password. Booting up and clearing a password takes a minute or two works like a charm.

I would like to introduce Windows Password Key 8.0 . it not only supports XP, 2000, and NT, I have personally tested it with Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. It creates a password recovery CD/DVD,USB Flash Drive for home, business and enterprise. It works perfectly to reset your Windows password. last night I installed a old printer that we had into my Acer 3680 laptop and apparently I installed it wrong. Well now when I try to reboot my computer it won’t work. I have tried everything and i’m to the point where I want to throw it out the back door. It keeps saying windows failed and it won’t even pull up the login page. I also don’t have the disk that came with the laptop. PLEASE HELP!

I have downloaded windows password Recovery Basic. It is a very quick and useful utility for recovering passwords. Just an easy to use bootable CD/DVD . It can also be used on a USB Flash Drive. http://www.windowspasswordrecovery.net/

Firstly windows has an account called “administrator” which doesn’t normally show up on the welcome screen but you can get to it either by booting in safe mode (it does show up on the welcome screen when in safe mode) or by pressing ctrl+alt+del at the welcome screen to get an old fassioned login dialog. Often this account will have no password on it.

If the administrator account is locked out or has a password on it then there is a third party password reset and account unlocking tool available from http://www.windows-logon-password.com/

Folks..I noticed that some of you have suggested for people to use the system restore feature on a computer. The problem is I have known people that have never created a restore point for their computers . so in some instances..the system restore feature would be useless at this point..if you are having issues with getting limited connectivity on your computer, I suggest going to microsoft’s website and there are articles that take you step by step on how to reset the connection back to its original settings. Here’s another tip…If you plan to use the system restore disks , you have to make sure that the computer has not had any upgrades done to it since it was purchased. If you put more RAM or changed the size of the hard drive or replaced the motherboard in a computer and try to use the system recovery disks..the disks may not work because the computer has to have the same hardware in it that was in the computer when it was purchased. I myself am trying to find out how to make recovery disks for my computer because i have the original windows vista on this computer and it has had almost or more than 200 updates including windows service pack 2. It took forever to reload this computer from the beginning and then downloading all the updates that were added to the original version of windows. I just want you to understand that if you reload your computer with the recovery disks..be prepared to load a lot of updates and re-installing all the anti-virus software and any other software you previously loaded into your computer

While many people probably have told you that the only way to bypass Windows XP password is to fully re-install Windows XP, they aren’t totally right. You can also do this by using a 3rd party utility.

You see, when you re-install Windows XP, you’ll have to wait for a couple of hours before the install has been completed. This really is a total waste of time.

In order to successfully bypass your XP password, you can use a small yet powerful software program that will be able to reset your password to “blank” without re-installing Windows XP.

But, what software program can help you to do this?

That isnt what they mean, they want to reset the computer not restart it

This kind of situation can only use the third party software.I think Windows Password Reset 9.0 is very great. http://www.reset-windows-password.com…

If you lost windows password, you can go into safe mode (F8 when booting up) to recover windows password, but you forgot administrator password, that way doesn’t work. you must use software to recover administrator password. This method is very easy. You can go to this site http://www.reset-windows-password.com…

Remove/reset lost Windows password you can use Windows Password Rescuer, it can reset/remove Windows 7/vista/xp/2008/2003/2000 password instantly.
For Windows 7 password Recovery, there is a useful tool,[Daos Windows 7 Password Recovery Tool], this software is cheap as if it is free!
I highly recommend [Daos Password Recovery Bundle 2012], which can recover password instantly for Windows, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, RAR/WinRAR, ZIP/WinZIP, PDF etc Over 70+ types of passwords.

I suggest you try hard to remember your windows passwords, and try them a few times. If this still doesn’t word, You have only two ways to solve this problem. Reinstall Windows or reset the old password with windows password reset tool. I do not recommend you to reinstall Windows, which may lead a data loss. So if you really can not remember the password, try following steps: 1. Download Window Password Seeker on another PC. 2. It is an ISO file. Burn the ISO file to a CD/DVD or a USB flash drive. 3. Boot the locked computer from CD/DVD and remove Windows password More info: http://www.passwordseeker.com/howtous…

My laptop wont turn comptetely on. It will show a bar at the bottom saying Windows is loading files then the screen goes blank and doesnt do anything! I have tried so many things, one of my friends suggested for me to clear everything on my laptop by clicking f12 but it doesnt work that just shows me a bunch of different things! So if anyone could help me fix my laptop i’d really appreciate it! I have an Acer Aspire.
