Type 2 diabetes is diet controlled so as long as your dad manages to control it with diet he won’t need injections x

It depends on many many different things only your fathers GP can tell you.
In general he will have to take insulin if his body won’t be able to produce enough on its own. If he would develop some medical condition because of his diabetes then he will have to take additional meds for that condition.
To get the most accurate information about your fathers prognosis and overall condition talk to his GP.

Hopefully, if he controls his diabetes well, he won’t have to take insulin. However, as he is insulin resistance, his body may eventually stop producing insulin, in which case he will then have to inject it himself.

as others have said, your dad need to control his diet. My dad has type II. The trouble is many of the worst effects of diabeties don’t make themselves immediately known eg attacks on organs, eyesight etc. It is very common for people to be in denile and NOT make the changes needed. In many cases simply loosing weight can actually reverse the condition. You can encourae him to eat well but don’t hold out hopes.

There is a new technology, the insulin pump so i dont think people have to inject.
