Should I go to the doctor?

I had a cold and for the first time ever my ear it seems got congested. A lot of things say to see a doctor if it doesn’t go away after 48 hours. It’s been 5 days. It’s just slowly gotten worse. I’ve had echoing, throbbing, and random bolts of pain. All of the usual remidies make it worse. The nurse at this Job Corps I’m at says it’ll go away but no student believes she’s very compitant. SHould I wait it out or run home to my mom so she can take me to a doctor? Thanks!

Yes. Go to the hospital for a small checkup or just a doctor immediately. You need to get rid of that nasty bacteria out of your system as soon as you can. Don’t wait, the earlier the better!

Are you sure? In my situation it is A LOT of trouble to arrange. That’s why I haven’t done anything.

Yes, other than that it may be seasonal allergies. Everybody has got them right now, including myself. It will stay for a month…but if you are very concerned about the situation and you just feel like something is not right, then go to the doctor.

If it is a seasonal allergy yes a month, if not then that is something the doctor will tell you.

Sometimes, a cold can drag on for a week or so. You might also want to speak to a pharmacist and ask if he thinks a doctor’s input would be a good idea? He may be able to direct you to a walk-in clinic for a check-up.

We can only advise that you DO seek a doctor’s advice as we’re not in a position to diagnose online. If things seem to be getting worse not better, then it’s possible you may need antibiotics to clear an infection.

Certainly, if you are experiencing any chest pain, cough up brown fluid or have trouble breathing… you MUST get help right away.

I hope you feel better soon.
