I’ve done something pretty silly and now I can’t stop worrying!
A few weeks ago my boyfriend’s phone went off while he was out, so I checked to see if it was anything important. He’s very busy a lot of the time, so I act as his secretary sometimes to help him. When I looked it was a text off a strange number (it was a foreign mobile) and it said something along the lines of, “I miss you, come online!” His phone displays texts as conversations and there were several messages, much like this. At first I got scared. His ex is American and I thought that would explain the strange number and give the texter a reason to “miss him.” But much to my relief, he hadn’t replied to ANY of the prompts, but I can’t say whether or not he’s talked to her online.
I don’t mind him talking to his ex online. At first I encouraged it, because I’ve always gotten along with my exes and she was a big part of his life. But after much discussion, he made it clear that he didn’t want to speak with her again; I think the break-up was pretty messy! The problem now is that we’ve been living together for a LONG time and I don’t like these texts he’s getting. I don’t even know if they are his ex! I’m not the kinda person who just goes rifling through people’s phones looking for evidence, but I can’t unsee this text now. Should I ask? Should I ignore it?
