Love help: Why are you in help.com? - Help.com

I am here beI love cause without me everybody would fall apart..Its a dirty job but somebody has to do it. I love the trolls,, Help dot com has helped me waste 5 plus years of my life…I am trying for 6..Ive been know to drive some off the deep end..I will stay because I cant leave..impossible…..

I’m here to clear my head each day.

I love that there are so many stories being told here, and that it’s a community full of people who just want to help others. I hate how slow the site is! And the fact that there’s no mobile version or app, since I use my phone to come here a lot. I have been helped here, it gave me somewhere to go when I needed people to talk to. I hope I have helped people! I don’t think I’ll ever really leave, life may get busy but I’ll always be back :)

I could see that my typing skills have also improved, just read my first sentence…..

One sad day I typed in help ,and low in behold,theres a help.com.I was lost and was looking for any solutions to my troubles, I found some very intelligent folks who replied, and I was touched for there kindness and valued there thoughts. Not a regular, but like to check in at times.Excuse me for some of my replies as I do go straight to the bottem line and skipp all the fluff, so I most likely have hurt some feelings,but the powers to be haven’t kicked me out yet.YEA

It’s almost exactly how I found help.com. I needed so help and typed in help on google and bingo there was help.com. I’ve tried to help people doing what I can and they have tried to help me. Sure I’ve given some answers that aren’t deemed the best and I’ve gotten some pretty smart *** answers back. But overall it’s a nice website and nice to find other people out there who seem to genuinely care that one day you’ll be okay.

What you love in help.com?

The people who are here. I love this strange little connection to the people here. I have not felt that with any other site I have been to.

What you hate in help.com?

How slow it is.

Has help.com really helped you?

Yes, I have been helped by help. I think it help me make connections with people when I was in need of feeling connected. It has been helpful by allowing me to share my thoughts with other people and seeing their reactions to my thoughts. In the pysical world, I have a harder time sharing my opinions. So it has really help me learn to express myself and my opinions.

Or have you really helped in help.com?

I think I have helped others. I have had a few people come back and say that I helped them. And that really feels good to know that they heard what I was saying, and that it helped carry them through a hard time.

Will you stay for how long in help.com? Will you ever come back in help.com?

We all know that you never leave help for good. You always come back. I usually come back when I am feeling a little down. Then I stick around for a while. Or I think of someone here and wonder how they are, and I will come back to check in on them.

Yea.. I like it and I love the feeling that I can help lots of people.. :)

I came here a looong time ago, really…I’ve just had different screen names…
But I came here originally to help a family member…
I’ve met some really special and wonderful people here on this site…
And, on the coin flip, I’ve met some really questionable ones…
But all in all, my experiences here have been just fine…
We learn alot about our selves by helping others.
I sort of fell out of practice on here in the past few months…I know that.
But I’m here now to pick up with helping…
That’s what its all about here, eh??
My entire family has been on here at one time or another…and THAT is when it was really fun…
Some very interesting characters have come and gone here…and I still miss many of them.
But I guess they gave all the time that they had and moved on.
I’m stuck here….but thats just fine with meeee…:)

What I love most about help.com: helps me forget my problems for a little while.
What bothers me about help.com: I don’t really get the right answers to my posts.
Help.com has helped me a little. I guess that’s obvious, because I still sign in regularly. It has also helped me realize, however, that there is no “magic solution” to my problems and that I just basically have to weather the storm.
I think that I have helped people on help.com. One person said that they would try something I suggested, and I guess all of our contributions help, you know?
I’ll keep coming for a LONG time, I know that much. But for my whole life? It is an interesting idea. Someday, I hope to move to England and live in a stone house in the moors without any electricity. I feel that this will make my problems fade a little, but my real reason is to live an environmentally-sustainable life! (I should have a post about that.) Until then, however, I’ll be back.
I’m coming back here soon enough. You’ll see me complaining again in the near future :)

Yeah that is the one big problem I have with help.com
The fact that there are no admins that care enough about this site
to get it all fixed up and prettied up.
Does anyone else remember when the admins kept telling us that they were gonna “roll out the NEW Help.com”…
They kept saying that for…oh a looong time..
and look at it…It was never done.
And now it is soooo slow sometimes that I just sign off…
I sure do wish that they could bring Help.com back to what it originally was in its hayday….it was FABULOUS!!!!
That is my only complaint…

Maybe, if given proper incentive like more pay and better benefits. :)

This site helped me through a really rough patch a few years ago, even though i didn’t specifically ask for help myself, being able to concentrate on other peoples problems helped me with mine. I stay because i love helping people, and who knows, maybe some day something i say here will help change someones life for the better. That is why im here.

I found this site a little while ago while looking up some stories about depression. I’m not a very positive person, oh well. Got banned cause of my first reply “encouraging suicide.” I found help.com by accident, thought it would be a good place to vent. I never expected to be “helped” but I will admit that I have benefited from some of the advice I have been given. What I love about help.com: It is a good place to clear your head. I can sit here four hours and write when I’m upset, either poems or rants, and even if no one replies it still felt nice to blow off some steam.

What I hate about help.com: I don’t think the moderators like me very much, cause that daft puck guy likes to close my posts if they are too depressing.

How long will I stay? I dunno.

If I am not so self destructive as to end my own life in the near future.. I think I will just keep coming back.

Well, Savanna…Daft Puck is definitely NOT a guy…
And she is loved by probably everyone on this site.
I have no idea of why she would close your posts, as I have not witnessed that.
But she is always very fair with everyone.

I love the congenial atmosphere as well as the selflessness and willingness of the members to provide help.

In my opinion, the good parts outweigh the bad parts; therefore, I cannot find a reason to truly hate anything about the site.

Indeed it has. I cannot recall any specific instances in which I was helped, but I can honestly say that this site has lived up to its name for me.

I’d like to think I have.

I haven’t decided yet. To be quite honest, I never conceived of being here as long as I have already. I suppose I’ll know when it’s time to resign. :)

If I ever decide to leave of my own volition, I will not plan on returning. But then again, it’s not uncommon for members to proclaim their permanent departure from the site and show back up somewhere down the line.

Honestly, i was lost, empty. Was on the computer looked down crying & just typed
“help ADDED .com. And there were people to talk too, Stonger people who gave me reassurance. Funny people who made me laugh when i cried.
I can’t tell you how much i love this site and the people on this site
or how much it has helped me.

similar for me actually griffin, I just typed “help” into google one night when everything was feeling to much for me, and this site was the first link. needless to say, its helped me loads, and im still here repaying my debt.

this help.com is nothing compared to yahoo.answers, alot of people there, they reply you and help you unlike here noone answers anything and noone gives attention

this help.com is boring and shallow

It all depends on when you ask, and how many users are online at the time. What were you needing help with?

Well for one thing, you cannot “block” your account here…:/
So I guess that your quick visit was useless.
And if you were really unhappy with Help.com, I hope that you have much better luck with the yahoo site.
I’ve been to yahoo answers…it cannot even begin to compare to help.com
It just doesn’t have that Help.com SNAP !!!! :DDD

Right you are, i think in my beginning you called me an overcomer, (had to lok it up to find the true meaning, but yes,
this past month i think i may be. I brought 2 ladies to the “Finding Hope” drepression group & they both came to church with me last week. One lady pasted me a note (hey, like back in school)
thanking me for bring her back to Jesus. I thank you and every one here at Help.com for being the wizards to give me courqage & strength

Aw, griffin…you are an awesome person…Surely you know that, right?
And it is YOU who have always had the courage and strength to keep on keepin’ on…
You just needed someone to stand beside you and tell you…YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Why are you in help.com? - I joined when i had issues and had no one in person to talk to. Stumbled across this site and decided i liked it.

What you love in help.com? - The people, and that no one actually knows you.

What you hate in help.com? - TROLLS

Has help.com really helped you? - It has at times with the advice, at others the people havent understood and it annoyed me.

Or have you really helped in help.com? - like to think people listen to my advice and that it does help.

Will you stay for how long in help.com? - Well been here for over 3 years so far..probably for a few more.

Will you ever come back in help.com? - I come back once every couple of week to a month, to check up on notifications and such.
