To-do lists can help, if you can get into it. I’m remembering a specific time when I was so exhausted, and had so much to do, and I couldn’t force myself to get up and do any of it — so I just grabbed a notepad and started writing the things to do. And I was too exhausted to do anything other than focus on this list for an hour or so. But gradually energy returned to me and I stood up and took care of the first items on the list, crossed them off, and continued writing and crossing until it was all done. So it’s like I didn’t have to actually get motivated or have a spark of initiative, I just moved my focus into a “to-do” space.
