stupid question, but what does “stay trill” mean, and why does it apply specifically to the Jenner sisters?

“stay trill” and “trill or die” was trending on twitter at some point, and everybody seemed to be writing it to Kendall and Kylie Jenner. I have no clue what it means, and googling didn’t help :S
I know, it’s a very shallow question (it seems like this forum is used for more serious questions…) - sorry!

Trill is an adjective used in hip-hop culture to describe someone who is considered to be well respected, coming from a combination of the words “true” and “real”.
