My e-mail was compromised and I am trying to change my password.

I opened an e-mail from a friend and suddenly all my contacts were sent this contact as from me. Mailer Daemon stopped some of them. I have tried to change my password using the advice given, didn’t work. Chattted with AT&T was told to contact Yahoo HELP

Your email account may have been hacked into and altered by someone. It is also possible to spoof email addresses without hacking into the actual accounts. It sounds like you are using Yahoo email, try their help site:
