why do my files have a little Lock symbol in the bottum corner?

all my picture files have it i checked the trash bin and the pictures are not there so idk why its like that i can still open them its just wereid

I guess it depends on the default program you have set to open those files. A padlock icon usually is closed if no editing can be done to the open file.

encrypted? i just have windows home so i can’t check it out, but pretty sure it just means you have encryption turned on.

right click, properties, general tab, advanced button, “Encrypt contents to secure data” checkbox
