suicide help: So I’ve got some questions, this place seems the only one willing to answer them. - Help.com

So I’ve got some questions, this place seems the only one willing to answer them.

If don’t have access to a gun or strong prescription pills to overdose on.. hanging is painful, but effective?
But if someone happens to find and “save” you there can be some brain damages due to lack of air.
So how long does it take before you are beyond helping?
If you try to commit suicide and fail, and are under 18, can you be forced to take drugs and such?
Or therapy?
What other bad stuff will happen?

Any inspirational crap will be ignored. I would just like an answer to these questions.
Don’t want to screw up my own Suicide lol.

Yes, you will be forced into a youth mental institution for inhouse counseling, have to take the drugs, and so will any of your siblings and your parents when they either find your body or discover you attempted to killed yourself.

This all is not for inspiration, I went through this whne I was 14 years old. I decided to slice open my arms and attempted to cut my veins, but “seriously” had a vision on my baby brother finding my body, covered in blood. I stopped after that vision, knowing that my actions would probably F**k up his life and others for life.

Want the truth from someone who can at least relate to your feelings? tell someone something!! seek inhouse counseling and the meds if necessery before you hack off yourself. Because if you succeed, your gone, but whose lives have your decision influenced? and whose life will never know joy because you took you life before you could help them? I now work with troubled children and repeat my story to some of them, but if I had killed myself, some of these kids would be dead now (of their own hands). Its selfish sweetheart.

Allow yourself time to growup, I promise you, just like the seasosn change so do experiences.

screw up or succeed, either way your dead or disabled (as you can very well damage your spinal cord and not ever walk again). Why not try to deal with whats going on before you destoy yourself, talk, whats up?

In reality I want to be one of those people that spew ‘inspiration crap’ but I’ll comply with your wishes and tell you of some common consequences of suicide attempts.

Hanging: You struggle for maybe 3-6 minutes, lose conscieousness and… Lose all control of your bowels. I’m not kidding. And if you survive this (which is quite likely actually), brain damage is one thing, but you were actually quite efficient and came close to succeeding there is a high chance that you’ve also damaged your spinal chord which will basically leave you completely disabled from neck down.
Cutting yourself: Extremely high survival rate. Just leaves you with a ‘lovely’ scar for people to ask about.
Overdosing: Also extremely high survival rate, but with much worse consequences. Causes a lot of liver damage (+more depending on the type of drug), which basically leads to a lot of health problems with symptoms that normally only show up on the eldery.

The consequences of a suicide attempt vary depending on the area you live in, but yes, basically you’ll have to undergo manditory counselling from a professional. Your school will probably also be notified of this and get you to check in regularly with the school counsellor. Also, if they deem that the school environment might be a reason behind the attempt, the teachers will also be notified to ‘help you’ as much as they can. If you are a repeat offender or have been deemed to be a more extreme case than usual, you will be insitutionalized.

this girl down on my street hung herself, but her family found her and she stayed in a coma for a couple of weeks before they pulled the plug.

you should just run away and hitchhike or something. become a bum/beggar. sleep in trees etc. it’s better than being dead and you won’t have anyone around hassling you and trapping you in your old life.

just let it all go and leave. you’ll find your way.

The worst for you and your family would be a failed suicide! Would you like to end in a coma and be a nursing case for the rest of your (long) life.
Not a nice outlook, no?
You better try other (living) options to find out of the deadlock of your actual life! There are many!
