What would you think of a situation where a girl…

said that sometimes she had lied to herself, saying, that her and a male friend are just
friends. And that he’s like a brother to her. But then when he
moves on, she feels hurt, as if he owed her something?

He owes her nothing. Its her own silly fault.
She will learn from it and will survive :)

“She lied to herself”- thats her fault
She will learn to be more real with her true feelings and express them honestly rather than let people she is interested in slip by.

He owes it to her to be her friend, but if he wants to be in a relationship with someone else and she gets angry, she is being selfish and immature.

I would think that the girl withheld her true feelings for this guy because she secretly wanted to be more than just friends - only she refrained from revealing those feelings to him for fear of what it might do to their friendship.
