Wrong help: Has anyone here lost their original account due to a log in failure like password being wrong? - Help.com

On here? As in on help.com? No.

I had an old livejournal account that I tried to log into but since it had been so long since I last logged into it, I think LJ actually deleted the account. I hope not. I’m going to have to figure out how to get back on there.

I think MySmellf did at one point I can’t remember if that got sorted or not. She was always anon anyway so it doesn’t make much difference I guess.

That happened to me but I ended up getting to a computer which hadn’t logged me out and re-entered my email address and that fixed the problem! My account just somehow deleted that information. Maybe this will help fix everyone else’s problem?

I lost mine but was able to get the failure to break the second account and fix this one.

I haven’t, but I don’t log myself out. I’m always logged in on both my laptop and phone.

Mine has. I plugged in my email and it gave me a whole new account.

kind of. I actually lost my old one and seem to have had two new ones created. One on firefox and one on internet explorer.
I can log in with both at the same time and it appears in the online users as two different accounts. They both have the exact same name and picture but the internet explorer one only has the ones I’ve posted or replied to when using internet explorer and the mozilla only has the ones I’ve posted or replied to recorded when using mozilla on its one.
I don’t want to lose my posts though. So I’m hoping they can be combined somehow.. :/

Yeah Dani… Me (ML) I am writing this from my new account but would really prefer my old one back. It’s weird because they seem to be linked somehow. Whenever I change my avatar or name on this one, it changes them on the old profile too… even though I’m NOT logged into that one and can’t log into it anyway!

My password has rarely worked for me. I keep my cookies enabled and log on via one of the subscription emails I gather by the ton. I have never changed my password. At least not that I’m aware of. And I think even though my password is a common word, the vowels are switched around so it can not be easily guessed.

well i cant log into my account. every time i try it says the password is wrong when i know i put the password in right.

Yes but you helped me get it back somehow. Really only because I was still logged in on another computer.

Mine kept saying invalid or already used e-mail.

Barbyman lost his account and he got really mad and I haven’t seen him around lately. I think he thought Help.com did it on purpose or something. I will get on his website and tell him to try again if you think it is fixed.

I think you remember what happened with mine, but here is another recap:

When I had tried all the passwords I could, and still could not log in, I requested it to be sent to me via “forgotten password” link. But the email I got lead me to a new account with the same name, but missing the last 0. I was never able to re-access that account.

I have recovered my password when forgotten and have not had an issue with losing the account.

Me. I deleted my cookies, and then came back here. My form data was intact, but it would not accept my login information. When I tried to reset my password, I never received the email, and now I can’t login at all. :(

Ohhh me, me, me… I literally just got back on 5 seconds ago. I had to change my email, and password once again.

yea i still have a problem with mine, everytime i try loging in it always says the login failed, check password and email address…i just never log out anymore since this has happened.

Pianosaurus Rex here. Downstairs computer logged me out automatically, laptop is still good. I tried sending a password recovery on this comp, but all it did was make this account for me. I tried subscribing to notification e-mails on my laptop, but I’m not getting the e-mails for whatever reason. Frustraaaattiiiiioooooon!

That’s exactly what happened to me. Still only able to log into the old account using an old automated login link I found in my e-mails. :) Oh well…. lol

I was always me changed names three times, I think.
I was on vacation before and didn’t have my password, do kept putting my name with something else at teh end, then I’d report one of my replies to the mods so that they’d know that it was me. But yes, I mostly stayed anon, Jalex.

so, what was the outcome here?
