Where are all of the people with a zest for life?
Are these people imaginary? They do strange things spontaneously, and can have fun doing almost anything. They’re willing to take off on a sudden road trip to nowhere. They can really appreciate people for who they are. They’re genuine and passionate.
I want to know people like that. I can feel it when people are and most people I know don’t have it. In fact, most people bore me to death.
Where ARE these people and how do I meet them?

I’m definitely one of those people, in general. I’ve been down a bit lately due to relationship stuff, but there’s almost nothing I don’t enjoy doing, and I do in fact, take sudden last-minute road trips all the time :).
Generally I meet other people like me doing stuff I like to do. I find meetup.com is good for that. Another really good place to meet them is in youth hostels. Go find out where the youth hostels are in your area. Take a road trip next weekend and go stay in one. I always meet the coolest people in youth hostels.
It is easy Chimp Goon: Become one of the people and you will instantly draw more to you. Ever hear the old saying “Birds of a feather flock together”.
Uhh you know two of them :P Yourself and I! Baha. Yes I would like to know more of these people as well. You’re right candp. Fionna its good to know that you are one of them also. I enjoy reading your replies :D
I have been more and more like that, but I am still in high school, and high school kids are some of the most boring people in existence.
I guess I am waiting until I can move out into the world. I live in the country so there’s not a place I can go.
It’s just difficult to wait.
Yes, Missa, we are like that, but we have been sorely lacking in the amount of road trips we go on. Also, I want to meet a boy with these qualities. So… :P
I know a boy with those qualities. Dang mang we do need a road trip. First I need to get a job, then help pay the bills, then save up money for said road trip. You need to get the hell out of the boonies.
Chimp, if this is something you would like to accomplish in life don’t waste any of your time waiting. The country is a wonderful place to learn how to be adventurous. Your adventurous side can be conceived right in your own back yard. Do you feel that you are different then all the other high school kids you know? What makes you think they are so boring?
Do you have a car, Chimp Goon? If you live in the country, I think you must. One of my best friends has a great story about making a decision one weekend to drive to Canada for Tim Horton’s doughnuts. They left on a Friday (from Santa Cruz) and made it as far as Washington State before giving up.
You could take on a similar errand, if your parents will let you. Next weekend, go find the world’s largest ball of twine (or whatever). Or just see how far west you can drive in one weekend. Have some fun. Stay in a youth hostel or sleep in your car when you’re ready to pass out. And come back when your time is half-up :).
Take lots of pictures and blog it. Trust me, it’ll make a great story later in your life :).
Road trips like that usually require gas money. I personally feel very different than the other kids in high school. They seem so immature and stupid sometimes. Some of the things they talk about and care about are pretty meaningless. The way they present themselves to the world is totally different than the way I present myself. Its like they have no desire to learn anything other than what the school is telling them to learn. Ignorance about life and important things is very common in high school. I grew out of the high school bull**** years ago. We graduate in June.
I don’t know, I can just tell when people are boring. It’s something that’s very easy to see, when someone is being genuine and loves life. I hardly ever see that, especially in high school.
I don’t have my license yet. Hey, Missa, we can hitchhike. I’d even like to try doing it with hardly any money. That’s the kind of thing I’m talking about, too. Less preparation, even when it’s possible that we’ll fail miserably. Reading On The Road helped me see that.
Ah that could work. I don’t know about the hitchhiking thing though. I’ve heard horror stories about that. There must be some other way to take a road trip. Maybe we should jump a train lol. High school is full of a bunch of insecure teenagers who are having trouble finding themselves. All of my thoughts are jumbled up. lol
Oh, jump a train! Sounds good to me!
You know, a good substitute for meeting new people is doing something spontaneously fun with someone I already know. If we actually did things like this, I would be satisfied.
I’m up for anything, mang. Seriously. I’m salivating at the mouth here.
Haha well when you get your G2, we can uhh go on a quest to find our “soulscape” Or whatever its called. Camping/roadtrip/extremely valuable buddy time.
Well tabvst maybe you should make an original reply. I’ve seen that same reply like 5 times now. Don’t you have anything original to say?
from my experience, you’ll meet up people like that everywhere. Look for the one in the crowd who doesn’t focus to himself. That could be one of those. They easy to befriend, but most of the time you’ll lost track of them too.
He He Hello saw this Post well !!!
you managed to put a smile on my face i am on of those poeple you are talking about, im 22 and have been freespirited for since i can remember, you see we are the outcasts of society our mad and manic way of thinking doesn’t allow us to fit into main stream society, mainly because we can not become the machine we need to do our own thinking own planning, and we enjoy nothing more that partying and living each day as it comes. were anoying because we a right it a weired way, but also insulting and not afraid to speak out minds that gets us into a lot of trouble were out there, check the Goth scene we are the unwanted children, the thinkers the doers the smokers and the tokers. we live in silence but shout our music, hoping to be the the next, miss right untill then party on, Life life day by day, love your woman and your fellow man and be happy with what you got in this short time we have here.
