should i trade in my old iphone?

see i got this iphone from my dad it used 2 be his but it doesnt have a data plan so i been using wifi but now im gonna have to stop using the phone service and pretty much stop using it altogether for the most part. all i been using it for is checking emails and holding pictures and taking them

actually im not in a phone contract. this is a old phone my dad had but gave away so no sim card. been using it to check my emails on wifi but nopt wifgi and its a paper weight ther than the ipod.
