Is feeling very disheartened.
You’ll probably think this is rediculus but… i’m a british girl from the midlands area. I’ve been determined to join the British army since i was 12,(key word their BRITISH) A lot of my family had joined before me and that made me want to join more. But now my country is disolving. I’m not talking about the whole unemployment and pension cut (tho they suck too)i’m talking soley about the independance issues today. I’m trying to go for the ‘if you love something, let it go’ approach to this, because i love Scotland, almost everything about. And they (should)have every right to be independant if they wish. But in their history they made the flag i want to serve under. I don’t want it to be independant, but england shouldn’t oppose this as they’ll just have a rise in tension between the 2 countries.
Then Wales will follow, my next door neighbour, really i don’t want to feel like i’m in a different country when i visit my cousins, which is what i’m starting to feel when i visit scotland.
N. ireland, my dad was in the war. I don’t know if their after independance but i wouldn’t doubt it.
And CORNWALL! Last i heard this was F**kin England.Now we’re breaking apart what the F’s going on! Then it’s gonna be the N. Englanders, surely by the end of the century England will be London and London only.
I get that there are many differences between all the above parts of Britain. Cornwall, Wales, N.ireland,Scotland, still have celtic elemants, whereas England (or as i’ve often refered to it in jest, the Whore of Britain,) has been had by the Romans, anglo saxons, vikings, normans, dutch; do you really expect us to still be the good little celtics Britons we were 9,000 years ago; how you’ve managed is beyond me.
What about the past 100 years, WW1,WW2…does that mean nothing?!:( Battle of Britain- soon to be an echo of a withered world, kinda like the english celts are to me now. Britain in stronger with all the countries, why are we looking to the past for thing to break us up and make us weaker, why not look to the future so we can stay the strenght we are now. Yes scotland could probably cope on it’s own, Wales (don’t know enough about your government, industry etc to say). But surely it’s better alongside England non???… maybe if london pass over a few of it’s powers…
Me sad, wanted to join British army (Not English), fight 4 Britain (Not England minus the Scots, Welsh, bits of England), work under the British flag (Not the f’in English it boring…not fashionable). There is the life i want… slowly dissipating with my island into a mentally black void in my mind… losing motivation… gonna live life on the dole :(… only excitement gonna be any new series of BGT… if it will still be called that.:( what do i f’in do now:’(
