Made it to Kabul .

. . going to a remote site in two more days to work with the Afghan military.

I’m now at a remote mountain outpost 8,000 feet above sea level–a high desert plateau!

Kabul is still hit by the Taliban from time to time.

Interesting fact: most of the Taliban fight within 20 km of home! And many Afghan families have their bets “hedged”: one son joins the Taliban, while the other son joins the Afghan army or police!

One of my teammates had to go home a couple of months ago after being injured in a rocket attack. The Taliban shoot 107mm Chinese-made rockets at us. Guess what? Every time we buy Chinese-made goods, we help to fuel the Chinese war machine and pay for weaponry shipped to the Taliban!

Will try to be safe! ;-)
