Is there such a thing as being too funny?

I like this girl, and yesterday during our whole convo I was joking around and messing around (I could tell she was upset about something and she said she didn’t want to talk about it) so I was just joking about different things. She was laughing and all but I’m wondering if it could have been too much.

Yeah it’s possible to joke too much, it can lead people to think that you don’t take things seriously, which is bad. However, she was in despair and you lifted her spirits, if only a little, which counts. I would say in the future though, that you console her a bit too, tell her that she can talk to you about anything and you will sit and listen (No matter how boring or uninterested you are, just sit, listen, and give supportive answers!).
