I have a boyfriend who has a mild case of Autism.

He keeps beating himself up about it and I’m not really sure what exactly to say. He says stuff like “I won’t get a job or go to college because of this stupid autism!” and “This stupid mental disorder is messing everything up for me!” I really do love him and I wish I could do stuff for him physically but he lives in a different state. So, any advice?

If you could explain to him that nothing is in his way except for his view that his autism is preventing him from succeeding, that might help.

People can overcome a lot of things if they try hard enough. But if they give up and blame it on something, for example autism, then they are probably going to fail, yeah. ^^ As Verge said.
He really needs to stop it, or he will sabotage all of his efforts.
