Should I get my phone fixed, or just get a new one?

My phone is an HTC Innovation from Sprint. I’ve had it for about a year and a half now, and it’s starting to mess up; the screen freezes all the time so I have to take out the battery just to unfreeze it; sometimes the screen won’t show up no matter how many times I press the button, meaning I once again have to take out the battery; It can be fully charged, yet 2 hours later it’s completely dead when I haven’t even used it (It tends to do that a lot when I’m out of town. I’m not sure if every phone does that, but I was like an hour away from home, it was fully charged, then dead and I hadn’t even touched it); It’ll vibrate for no reason; Sometimes it can be really slow; Etc.

Is it fixable, or should I just upgrade it for a new phone?

Check with your cell provider and see if you can upgrade to a new phone at a discount.

you have a couple of options, you could a) try a new battery, b) try a factory reset, or c) get a new phone. I would suggest that you take time to turn off your phone at least once a day. The main problem people have with their phones not working is that they NEVER give their phones a break. Just like everything else, even your phone needs a rest now and again. Half the time, just starting to do this on a regular basis improves a phones function and if you start out doing it your device lasts a lot longer. You can check your battery to see if it has gone bad by removing it and placing on a level surface. Attempt to spin it. If there is warping the battery will spin easily and you will see that not all ends are level with the surface. If it does not spin easily and looks level, check the prongs to make sure they are still golden. If they are and it is level then it is not a battery issue and you would next look at a factory reset. When you do this you lose ALL the DATA on your phone, so if there is something your worried about losing I would back up those files to a pc first. If doing phone maintenance and a factory reset does not fix your problem, then I would say, get a new phone. But that’s just my opinion. Hope that helps!
