Yesterday help: I just got new Elder scrolls V: Skyrim. - Help.com

I just got new Elder scrolls V: Skyrim.

And it won’t let me play :(?
This was going to be my first video game. Cuz I wanted to get into video games lol. So I picked Skyrim to be my first one. I just bought the PC DVD on friday and yesterday, I installed skyrim with Steam, of course. Once it was installed, I cliked on “Play”. But then it said “Failed to initialize renderer. Hardware t&l required but not supported by adapter.” So i’m not sure what to do next. Can anyone help me please? I really wanna play :/

And this is the drive I’m using:
HP pavilion
Inter Core 2 Quad
4 gb system memory
500 gb hard drive
15-in-1 card reader
Inter Graphics Media Accelerator 3100

First, go here:

And see if your machine can run the game (probably not) then upgrade your machine so that it can.

Inter Graphics Media Accelerator 3100

This is likely the issue. As Blue said above, see if the machine is capable, but doing a full system update is a great start.

On a second note, I am a game/level designer, so if you have any questions on the field, lemmy know and I will try to answer. There are dozens of games that one should play if they ever expect to be in the field though. (Mario, Zelda, Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter, Sonic the Hedgehog, final fantasy 7(or 8), and so on.)
