As human beings, according to the Bible, we were made in Gods image. Not one of us can say we do not sin, it is apart of our nature. You feel guilty about your sin? Well, take baby steps and when you let one “slip” remind yourself of the sin, be in control of your words and emotions. Think before you speak. You can do this, it is possible. Reading the Bible daily can also help to remind you of the reasons why you no longer want to take the Lords name in vain or swear. I think it says something how these things come from the devil, so see it that way. A simple swear may not be as innocent as society makes it out to be. This is for you to choose. Never give up, you fall you pick yourself up and keep going. Again, do not give up. God sees you trying, just keep going. Ask the people around you not to swear, if it offends you then they sound respect these things. Surround yourself with positive people and things. You can do this. 8))

Self control is another large part of having a relationship with God, it takes time so don’t defeat yourself before you try. The less you become attached to worldly things, the less hard it will be. As well, not letting your emotions take ahold of you helps heaps, because then you can see things as they truly are. Cheesy but, the truth will set you free, so be honest with yourself, do you really want to give up swearing to be closer to God, or do you want to focus on not knowing how to stop? Not trying to be rude, but this is only something you can stop with Gods help of course, pray about it.
