How do you deal with having to leave your country behind (and all your friends too), and the passing of a loved one at the same time?

Too much to handle… no idea what or how to think…

You could look at it as a fresh start.

Well, the first day I wandered around feeling lost. The second day I enjoyed the new food. The third day I got into a mindless routine. The days after that through the first year I merely survived and learned as much as I could about the culture, as quickly as I could.
7 years later I’m still learning as much as I can about the culture =P Although I’m no longer just surviving, but thriving.
It’s just all one day at a time for me, with God’s help.
