Many groups living in the United States have felt alienated from the larger society due to gender, race, ethnicity, or ideology.

In a well developed essay, explain what made these groups feel like outsiders and how they struggled for change.

I am 58, female, Caucasian, and agree wholeheartedly. Females are still getting a tough assessment - particularly in the banking and insurance industry. I might add to your list, situational issues (vehicle, disability, money, opportunity, proximity to mass transit). I won’t do an entire essay; however, I will say that some of us alienate ourselves by choice. We are called introverts and extroverts wear us out. Home fels safe. We don’t get caught up in buying things we don’t need. Going out requires a list, a plan, showering, dressing appropriately, some makeup, letting the dog out to go potty first, making sure you have coupons, receipts for return, measurements if necessary, whew. Easier to stay put.
