OI! I said no diets! You goof.
Anything high in fiber should keep you full longer (but it also means more bowel movements LOL)

lol yeah, there’s always one downside or another. so what sort of foods are high fiber? other than the gross stuff like bran cereals etc.
breakfast = eggs, oatmeal, banana, toast w/ peanut butter (kind with only 2 ingredients: peanuts & sea salt)
Try to follow CONSTANTLY the Food Combining.
You may eat nearly everything, but in strict combination. It’s easy and very effective!

I have never heard of this… i didn’t know it was a thing! thanks zirbel, this is really neat stuff :D
I have been listening to a nutritionist who is a doctor every night on my radio and he hates processed grains. He says it is better to eat eggs and bacon for breakfast than cereal. Just a thought.

I think processed grains cause a lot of bloating too… do you think whole grains would be alright?
Yes. He recommends Shredded Wheat. Actually oatmeal is a whole grain cereal and is fine, but the normal person eats too much bread and other processed grains which he hates. His name is Asa Andrews and he is a natural food health nut kind of guy. He has written a lot of books and has a syndicated talk show.

What’s his name? I’m going to look him up and get some more info, this is great! I’m trying to find a bread replacement but the best I can do is continue eating whole wheat bread (grew up on it, I wont touch white) and substituting bread for a small tortilla to cut down on the amount of processed-grain intake. I’m going to buy some shredded wheat squares (like giant miniwheats but without the sugary goodness, just the wheat) and eat them in skim milk and honey. I did that when starting a cleanse a few years ago, it isn’t too bad actually. Very good when you toss in some blueberries! yum…
Consider switching from skim milk to whole. Whole milk is much more filling and some studies have shown that it is healthier. Search Google for “skim milk vs whole milk” and decide for yourself. Same thing with “butter vs margarine”.

Organic milk is expensive, but if you can afford to buy organic or at least hormone-free milk, it is probably a good idea. Also, berries and apples are probably worth buying organic if you can afford it. Here is a list of the “dirty dozen” foods to buy organic and the “clean 15″ foods that you don’t need to buy organic.

With pre-packaged food like oatmeal, usually the fewer ingredients the better. The instant stuff has a lot of sugar in it. Anything labelled glucose, sucrose, fructose, cane juice, ‘xyz’ syrup is essentially sugar. The classic stuff takes a few more minutes to cook, but it’s healthier - rolled oats is the only ingredient. I started with the instant stuff and switched to half instant/half classic and now I just eat the classic. Add a few raspberries and I am good. At first it tasted bland, but after a while the sugary instant stuff doesn’t even taste good to me anymore.
Nice post i will be back here soon to read it all.

Food/diet help. Okay okay, not a diet, don’t worry, I don’t believe in those. No willpower you see.
BUT! I do want to start eating better and cut down on junk food and so on, so I was wondering if anyone had ideas of super lean and healthy foods I can substitute in for the junk food, and the normal food I eat now like a dinner of baked chicken and rice or a steak, sandwiches, that sort for thing would stay the same.
So far I have stopped going to Tim Hortons for breakfast before work (I have to be up at 5am and Tim’s is the only 24hour place with food) and my breakfast now consists of plain yogurt and granola. Mum makes the granola, it has no sugar (she uses applesauce and a bit of honey to sweeten it) and it has lots of cranberries, almonds, etc etc in it.
I constantly eat apples and bananas for snacks (not a fan of most fruits like oranges, mangoes, pineapple, that sort of stuff) but I need ideas for lunches that are super fast and easy and can sit in the fridge over night since I don’t have a lunch hour in an eight hour work day and would have to make it in advance.
So any ideas for breakfasts, snacks, lunches, dinners, ideas of healthy stuff that will make me feel full (high fiber foods do that, but I’m not sure which ones) and foods that will help satisfy my cravings for sweets (Berries don’t work, they just make me want processed sugars… but I like them in my brekkie or snacks)
Any input is greatly appreciated, as long as you guys don’t try to spring any weird fad diets on me. I’m just trying to cut out the processed junk from my diet, not go about shedding eight pounds a day and taking weird pills and so on. Just good healthy food :P
Thanks!
