depression help: I’m so tired all the time… All I want to do is sleep lately. - Help.com

I’m so tired all the time…

All I want to do is sleep lately. I’ve told my Doctors but they don’t seem very concerned. Could be my thyroid disease, depression, side effect of meds, I don’t know. I need energy! I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired! -end rant-

Nutrition usually takes care of this.
Takes a lot of work to get it right though. I´m working on that and it goes so slooow.. Would be great to just download books directly into the mind.

Change your lifestyle, sleep more, eat more wholesome foods, drink more fluids, take a multivitamin, and cut back on caffeine and alcohol.
If this doesn’t help it has a more serious reason: Anemia, Diabetes, and of course your Thyroid Disease. Should be checked by your doctors.

I like to sleep long hours whenever I have the chance. I sometimes believe that, despite however long I sleep, I could never feel fully awake and alive. The only remedy for this is more sleep, I believe.

I take Iron suppliments every so often to keep my iron up. It helps regulate me from wanting to sleep all frakking day. Taking too much or too often is bad for me, so IDK how it works for others, but it would prolly be a bit of trial and error for you.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I think poor nutrition may be the culprit here and I’m going to try to fix it.

It could be many things but you have brought many concerns to the table.

Thyroid- Only a doctor can monitor your levels and prescribe the proper medication for this. Have you been taking your meds?

Depression- This is a tricky bastard. Might be you need meds..Then again you might need a friend to listen. Maybe that and more. I think with this one you know better then any doctor could ever say.

Side effects of meds- There are many!!! The only way to tell the meds from you, is to take notes from the start of them or stop taking them. This can be just as tricky as depression…

No matter the problem, or the cause… there is always hope for a solution.
I hope you find yours.

Hey Mitzy!! I know what you mean, that happens to me a lot lately. I am 45 now almost 46 and I blame it on hormones. I use to be full of life and now it seems my favorite activity is sleeping. I do feel better after going for a walk. If I had health Insurance I would seriously consider going on hormone therapy. I also hear that a vegan diet is energizing but I don’t know if I could do that. Sometimes, I think I am depressed but I don’t want to become dependent on medication. GOOD LUCK!!! :)
