I’ve recently figured out what I might consider for a career, problem is, my piercing.

I’ve thought about becoming a history teacher and I was wondering if I could still teach with my lip ring out. I’ve had it for 3 years already so it won’t close unless I leave it out over the weekend or so. Eventho I don’t have my piercing in the scar will still show and I was wondering if that alone would be a problem.

The piercing will very likely be an issue, no way around that, but the scar? Well I don’t think so, to say it would be a problem would be to say all facial scars are a problem.

If you don’t mind me asking, which state are you from. I’m from NJ. I don’t know if the rule would vary or not.

Work toward your chosen career. You can remove the piercing later if necessary. Right now it isn’t considered professional to have visible piercings besides ears, but social mores tend to evolve over time.
