Is it a good idea to tell the interviewer…

?
that you have a learning disability? I mean I want to apply to this job and they mentioned about what their company does and how they are changing the way special educations are delivered.

“We believe that all students with special needs deserve access to the best services and technology. As a member of our team, you will see the impact you are having on these students every day. \”

It makes me want to tell them that I have a learning disability and how much I strive myself to be motivated, hardworking, creative, productive, and persistent in what I do. And I understand these children who need special help and attention. I plan to write this up in my cover letter is that a good idea?

I mean it turns somethiing negative into something positive.

I have the ability to observe students who need special help and can’t focus on schoolwork and I spent more time helping them then other students who can finish their assignment with little to no help.

Well, if the company didn’t want to hire you because of your learning disability, wouldn’t that essentially be discrimination?

I would not put anything about a disability on an application for a job ever. People discriminate every minute of every day. If you are looking for a job and not a lawsuit do not tell them unless they ask.

It’s your call. If you can make it into a strength, that would set you apart from other applicants. On the other hand, HR people are looking for reasons to toss resumes.
