I need to quit my job…

I am over qualified, my boss is sexist, racist, unfair and lies.

I need to quit soon. I am trying to decide if I should just suck it up for a few more months or just quit now.

I feel terrified to quit my job. I have bills to pay. I am not making much now anyway, but if I quit, I would have no income, which frightens me.

I have been sending out resumes and a few people have called me back for interviews but I can’t go to any interviews because I am at work.

Do you have insight or advice?

or ideas?

I have a bachelors degree in art

Would it be possible to teach art on an individual level? Give lessons, I mean? That way you could quit your job and be able to schedule interviews in your own time.

Good luck! :)

Make any excuse to leave work for the interviews. Do not quit until you have an offer unless you can afford to have no job for a possibly long time.

don’t quit until you have another job - schedule interviews around your lunch hour, change your lunch hour if necessary, don’t interview all anxious, nervous and looking at your watch, you have to be on point - and really wanting the job - not just out of where you are - employers smell that - good luck

Fake an appointment, illness, mother vomiting at work needs you to come pick her up, car breaking down, whatever you need to do. Don’t quit unless you can live with no income, but don’t make excuses to not interview for other jobs!

On the other hand, you could just tell your boss you will be out for an interview and will be back in two hours.

Where I live, if you quit you don’t get unemployment insurance. If you are fired, you don’t get unemployment insurance. If you are “let go” for other reasons, you might. And it’s much easier to get a job when you already have a job, trust me! Unemployed people are practically unemployable in today’s economy.

Never quit because you are overqualified. To work is a privilege.
