i have nothing to do over the summer.

i wanted to take a language class in nyc but it might not happen if no one else signs up. even if i do that, it is just for a day every week. i was actually trying to look for a job and i found one to work at Carvel but the person there said i had to be at least 16. i am 15 years old and my birthday is late august. this sucks!!!!! i dont know if i could have lied about my age but i wouldn’t feel right. besides, this girl i know who happens to be 16 took it. i tried looking for other jobs but nothing. nothing or i had to be 16 or something. i don’t know about volunteering either…i mean, i do like helping people but i am not much of a “i’m going to volunteer for my entire summer” kind of person. i don’t know what to do! my parents said that if i cant find anything to do then they are going to sign me up for SAT prep and i do NOT want to do that. not only is it a waste of money but the reason for summer is a BREAK from school! i had a very stressful sophomore year and i do not want to think about schoolwork at all during the summer. i have also tried looking at art classes in the city but nothing is appealing to me. is there any hope for me left? my summer is going to be miserable!!!

An other good thing could be to do some volunteering. Here you can find suggestions:

And after that narrow the results on the left column on “Suitable For” — mark “Kids”.

Is there a fun-run or a charity race/event coming up that you could sign up for? that way, you could join an athletics club and train there once or twice a week. youd be meeting new people and could make friends from it so you could hang out with them other days of the week! then when race day comes along, invite all your friends to go and support you, as im sure many of them are struggling with ideas to do for summer too! excercise makes you feel great too, so its a good idea! :)
